John Hejduk was one of the most provocative and enigmatic architects of the second half of the twentieth century. Equally influential as educator and architect, he shaped generations of students through his teaching and leadership at The Cooper Union in New York. Renowned for his distinctive formal language and graphic style, Hejduk developed between 1953 and 1975 a remarkable series of experimental house projects, including the Texas Houses, Diamond Houses, and Wall Houses. These works explored themes such as the nine-square grid, axonometric projection, and the wall as a fundamental architectural element. Richly illustrated with Hejduk’s drawings, the book highlights his conceptual rigor, innovative graphic techniques, and lasting impact on architectural culture.
