Health Care of the Future 2026
ExSTRUCTURA. Smart Care, Human Values
How is healthcare architecture changing as artificial intelligence, automation, and societal transformation redefine the hospital as we know it? If cities succeed in becoming truly “healthy,” will they need fewer hospitals—and who takes responsibility for the urban spaces left behind? How must architecture and spatial organisation respond when digital infrastructures, robotics, and data-driven systems demand new levels of flexibility, transparency, and security? What does healthcare look like without walls? Can models such as Hospital at Home, virtual wards, and networked care environments be equitable, climate-resilient, and digitally integrated at the same time? And how can especially children’s hospitals developed through public–private partnerships foster innovation through new economic models?
