Oran studierte zunächst in Istanbul Malerei und übersiedelte 1980 nach Wien, wo er bei Adolf Frohner mit Diplom abschloss. Sein großer Durchbruch gelang ihm 1995, als er bei einem Wettbewerb mit dem 2. Preis ausgezeichnet wurde. Orans Arbeiten sind geprägt von der Materialität der Oberfläche. Die Reproduktionen erfordern höchste Fertigkeit in Lithographie und Druck sowie eine sensible grafische Aufbereitung, die vom renommierten Grafikbüro Bohatsch und Partner umgesetzt wurde. Das Buch ist keine geschlossene Werkschau, sondern eine erste in fragmentarischen Werkgruppen gebündelte Zusammenfassung von Ahmet Orans bisherigem Oeuvre, beginnend bei den aktuellen Werkzyklen. Das Ende des Buches bildet eine chronologische Visualisierung der im Buch reproduzierten Werke.

The book is not a comprehensive compilation of Ahmet Oran's œuvre to date, but an initial presentation of works bundled into fragmented groups, beginning with the current work cycles. The book concludes with a chronological illustrated listing of the pieces reproduced in it.
