Wiener Werkstätte: Textiles and their design This book presents new research and archival findings on the textile and fashion designs of the Wiener Werkstätte movement (1903–1932). Textile specialists, art and design historians offer insights into the most important collections and archives in Austria, Switzerland, and the US. The publication explores works by lesser-known female textile artists; the influence of Eastern European folk art, Japanese patterns, and ornamentation textbooks on textile designs; applications in fashion, interior design, film, theater; and marketing strategies used to enter new markets in the US. Régine Bonnefoit, Doktorat in Kunstgeschichte (Universität Heidelberg, 1995) und Habilitation (Universität Passau, 2006); Forschungsassistentin an der Abteilung für grafische Künste des Louvre (1992–1994); Forschungsstipendium am Kunsthistorischen Institut in Florenz (1995–1998). Volontariat an den Berliner Museen (2000–2001). Hochschulassistenz am Institut für Kunstgeschichte der Universität Lausanne (2001–2006). Nach einer Förderungsprofessur des Schweizerischen Nationalfonds erfolgte die Berufung zur ordentlichen Professorin für Kunstgeschichte und Museologie an der Universität Neuchâtel. Kuratorin und Co-Kuratorin zahlreicher Ausstellungen. Forschungsschwerpunkte: österreichischer und deutscher Expressionismus (Kokoschka, Kirchner, Klee); Wiener Werkstätte; Bauhaus; russische Avantgarde. Marie-Eve Celio-Scheurer promovierte mit summa cum laude in Kunstgeschichte an der Sorbonne. Sie war Stipendiatin der Schweizerischen Akademie der Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften und Forschungsstipendiatin am Deutschen Forum für Kunstgeschichte Paris. Sie lebte in Indien, wo sie als Beraterin für die UNESCO tätig war. Sie arbeitete als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Co-Kuratorin am Museum Rietberg in Zürich und hatte eine Gastprofessur an der Fachhochschule Westschweiz inne. Von 2019 bis 2022 leitete sie das Cotsen Textile Traces Study Center am George Washington University Museum / Textile Museum. Seit Dezember 2022 leitet sie die Sammlung von Druckgrafiken und Zeichnungen am Musée d’art et d’histoire in Genf. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen Jugendstil, Wiener Werkstätte, Indienne-Stoffe und Druckgrafik sowie Kulturaustausch.

Marie-Eve Celio-Scheurer holds a doctorate summa cum laude in history of art from La Sorbonne. She was grant recipient from the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences and a research fellow at the German Center for Art History Paris. She lived in India, where she was a consultant for UNESCO. She worked as a scientific collaborator and co-curator at the Rietberg Museum in Zurich and held the position of guest professor at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland. From 2019 to 2022, she led the Cotsen Textile Traces Study Center at The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum. Since December 2022, she has been heading the collection of prints and drawings at the Musée d’art et d’histoire in Geneva. Her research areas are in Art Nouveau, Wiener Werkstätte, indiennes and prints, and cultural exchanges.
